From the data in the Wikipedia entry I’ve created this graph that shows you how traffic is increasing exponentially over the years.

Multimedia type traffic is still increasing so the amount of traffic per month is likely to shoot up for quite a few years yet.

The only thing that can possibly curb the trend is a clamp down on p2p and spam traffic as an internet traffic report in arstechnica.com suggests.

Also in Sweden last year the volume of traffic reduced because of new laws as this article on the BBC website reports.

Google apparently does a lot more fancy stuff behind the scenes of just matching your keywords than you would imagine. Some of this we can already see when it tries to give you suggestions when you type an error. A good article and video can be found here:

Now that Microsoft bought Wolfram Alpha you can bet that Google is trying to do a similar thing. Google calls this web application “Google Squared” and the beta version can be found here:

If you search for instance for ‘planets’ the result is a nice grid with some usefull (or maybe not) facts about planets. It also includes some stars though. See image.

Google Squared

It looks like Wolfram Alpha returns the better quality results, but Google Squared is only Beta (even though Wolfram Alpha has Alpha in the name, it’s not), so we can expect more in the future. The nice thing is you can easily add and remove rows and columns and it will keep looking for the best matching data. And it’s integrated in the Google Document world, making it easy to save, share and export.

I came across XSitePro website design software and got me a copy of that. What a relief! You see webdesign does not have to be hard work. It all start with a Project management tree. Define your website, select a template and there are plenty of them and they are all beautifully designed. Them just start typing as if it was your favourite wordprocessor. All the normal features that you would expect are there. No need to go into them. But there are some very special tools available to you.

• Design wizards for testimonial boxes, buttons, headlines and bullet points;
• Adsense to put a revenue stream on your website (and others);
• Easily insert Audio and video;
• Widget wizard for email cloaking (to prevent spam), Banner rotator, FAQ script and lots more;
• RSS syndication links and social networking;
• Email caption forms using aweber, getresponse and others.

XSite Pro takes an integrated view on all elements of your website. If you change a name of a page or other link, there is no need to go through all pages again, everything updated for you. There is this Other page with 18 buttons on it and they provide you with all kinds of advanced stuff like:

• You can even create a mobile website from your own website to allow mobile too
